Do you know the reasons St. Paul tells us that we cannot safely leave the Laws of God “behind” (Romans 7)? The Laws of God cannot save. BUT…that said, the Laws of God perform key functions of life, evangelization, and ethical safety, discernment and maturity.
For example, the Law is a “Schoolmaster to bring us to Christ that we might be saved”, Paul is saying the without the Law, we lack the God-given “evangelistic program” designed to bring people to salvation…namely, the Law of God. When Paul writes that he had “…not known sin, but by the Law” he was telling us that the Law is given to define sin, as one of its functions.
The Laws of the living God were designed with MANY FUNCTIONS for life, ethics, decision-making, and instruction in godliness. Here is your introduction to those very subjects.
